The Department of Chemistry is seeking applications for an academic technical position (AC-TAP). The position includes scientific, administrative as well as teaching duties at the Department of Chemistry within atmospheric chemistry and aerosol science.

The intended start date for this appointment is November 1st 2023 or as soon as possible.

The candidate is expected to contribute to do: 

  • support and further development of the AURA atmospheric simulation chamber facility and associated instrumentation
  • maintenance, user training, and management of instruments for aerosol physico-chemical properties including data-interpretation and analysis
  • development and implementation of control and data collection software
  • compliance with ACTRIS standards and FAIR principles for calibration, operation and data-management
  • planning and realization of laboratory and field campaigns.
  • support of users during experiments in the AURA atmospheric simulation chamber
  • supervision of students and visitors on instrumentation and new developments,
  • participation in teaching of relevant laboratory courses in chemistry
  • various duties related to the Department of Chemistry
The position is affiliated with the Center of Excellence, Center for Chemistry of Clouds (C3) and the infrastructure consortium ACTRIS-DK. The candidate will be part of a technical team with other academic technicians, who support research in atmospheric, physical and analytical chemistry at the Department, and who shares some of the daily duties in support, maintenance and continuous development of the suite of instruments around the AURA atmospheric simulation chamber.

Your profile

The successful candidate must have a solid understanding of atmospheric aerosols and processes. Furthermore, we seek a candidate with a background and interest in relevant instrumentation, instrument control software and data collection. Experience in characterization of gas and particle properties and experience with simulation chamber experiments is considered a plus.  The candidate should have a PhD in physics, chemistry, engineering, nano-science, environmental science or similar.
