The Department of Chemistry is seeking applications for an academic candidate (AC-TAP). The position includes scientific, administrative as well as teaching duties at the Department of Chemistry within inorganic materials chemistry.

The intended start date for this appointment is May 1, 2024, or as soon as possible after.


Job description


The candidate is expected to contribute to:

  • Installation, maintenance, user training and management of research equipment in the materials chemistry groups. These include for example elemental analysis, thermal analysis, and diffractometers.
  • Support of synthesis in the materials chemistry groups and development/maintenance of synthesis equipment.
  • Support of users in characterization of materials.
  • Participate in support of teaching of relevant laboratory courses in chemistry.
  • Various duties related to the Department of Chemistry.
The candidate will be part of a team, which supports research in inorganic and materials chemistry, and which shares some of the daily duties in maintenance of instruments at the Department related to the research groups in inorganic and materials chemistry.

Furthermore, the candidate will provide support to research projects in the involved research groups.


Your profile


The successful candidate must have a solid understanding of chemistry and strong interest in advanced instrumentation, both preferably with emphasis on inorganic and materials chemistry. Experience in synthesis, preferably of materials, and characterization is an advantage as well as experience in operating advanced scientific instrumentation. The candidate is expected to have a PhD degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, nanoscience, materials science or similar.
