Center on Autobiographical Memory Research [CON AMORE], Department of Psychology and Behavioural Sciences, Aarhus University, invites applications for one to two 3-year postdoctoral fellowships with an expected start on January 15th 2024, or later.
The vacancies are part of a larger research project on the interplay between autobiographical memory and morality, funded by the Carlsberg Foundation.
About the project:
Everyday life is filled with concerns and norms for morality, such as concerns for the welfare of others, fairness, and honesty. Yet, the role of morality has been scarcely addressed in research on autobiographical memory—that is, memory for the personal past. The aim of this project is to establish a new foundation for the study of autobiographical memory rooted in the hypothesis of a fundamental interplay between morality and memory. The Postdoc will work on this project in collaboration with, and supervised by, professor Dorthe Berntsen as well as other members of our national and international team.
The applicant should have a PhD in psychology or closely related fields. The applicant must have a genuine interest in developing and conducting research projects addressing the interplay between autobiographical memory and morality. The applicant must also have concrete knowledge of, and experience with, research on autobiographical memory. In addition, we expect the applicant to have experience with conducting online studies using crowdsourcing platforms, psychometric tests, coding of verbal data, and to be a competent user of statistics programs, such as SPSS.
