The Department of Biomedicine at Faculty of Health at Aarhus University invites applications for a position as a research assistant to the Bioinformatics Core Facility. The position is full-time, fixed-term position for two years starting on 1 April 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Your job responsibilities
As research assistant to the Bioinformatics Core Facility, your primary tasks are to provide bioinformatics services and training to the users of the core facility. In addition, you will contribute to the implementation and testing of bioinformatics pipelines, software and analysis platforms. You contribute to the development of the department through teaching and research of high international quality. In your daily work, you have a close interaction with competent colleagues.
Your main tasks will consist of:
- Bioinformatics analyses.
- Bioinformatics consultation.
- Bioinformatics training (workshops, seminars and PhD courses).
- Implementation and testing of bioinformatics pipelines, software and analysis platforms.
You will report to the Manager of the Bioinformatics Core Facility, Assoc. Prof. Per Qvist.
Your competences
You have a background within Bioinformatics. Experience with the analysis of OMICs and other large-scale data will be considered an advantage.
Further qualifications:
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and with groups, and to take responsibility for the complete process from job submission, through data analysis to presentation of results.
- Experienced with statistical analysis using programming languages like R, Python or MATLAB
- Experience with linux, bash and high performance computing
As a person, you have good interpersonal skills, are friendly and helpful and able to contribute to a good work environment.
We expect you to be fluent in oral and written English.

- Appointment as a research assistant requires academic qualifications at master's degree level.
