The Department of Biomedicine at Faculty of Health at Aarhus University invites applications for a position as a Project Coordinator (academic employee) for kidney research as per 15 March 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter. The position is a fixed-term full-time position estimated for 1 year and 9 months.

Your job responsibilities


As Project Coordinator (academic employee) for the kidney research project, your primary tasks are to support researchers by coordinating experimental research projects that address the pathophysiology of proteinuric kidney disease and endocytic receptor biology. The project related tasks are expected to be completed by 31 December 2025. In your daily work, you have a close interaction with competent colleagues.

Your main tasks in the research project will consist of:

  • Research supporting project management
  • Coordinate and support animal experiments
  • Assist and manage application and renewal of animal experiment permits
  • Support and perform data analysis, including analysis of sequencing data
  • Coordinate and manage exchange of research reagents and resources with collaborators
  • Other administrative research support tasks

You will report to Associate Professor Kathrin Weyer.


Your competences


As the successful candidate you have a sound understanding of molecular and cell biology, both from the experimental as well as from the theoretical side. You have a strong background within kidney research and endocytic receptor biology, as well as insight into project management. Solid, proven experience with and certification in performing rodent experiments, including urine collection in metabolic cages is a requirement. Applicants with prior experience working with cell cultures, ELISA, western blotting, and qRT-PCR will be preferred.

You should hold a PhD in molecular biology, nanoscience, biology, molecular medicine, or an equivalent domain.

As a person, you have good interpersonal skills, are inclusive and team-oriented and able to contribute to a good work environment.

We expect you to be fluent in oral and written English.

We expect to conduct interviews the first week of February. You may be given a case in connection with the interviews.
