We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized individual to join our team as a Course and Event Manager. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the smooth planning and execution of all Danish Cardiovascular Academy activities. From developing course programs to coordinating with speakers and managing logistics, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of quality and professionalism in every aspect of our events.
The position available from 1st September 2024 and is a temporary full-time position ending with the current funding period on 31/12 2026. The position may be extended if the Danish Cardiovascular Academy obtain further funding.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the planning and execution of all DCAcademy courses and events, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
- Collaborate closely with the management team and scientific community to define objectives, formats, and priorities for courses and events.
- Develop comprehensive program agendas, taking into account the latest advancements and trends in cardiovascular health.
- Coordinate with speakers, and participants to ensure clear communication and seamless logistics.
- Lead some events personally, while providing support to the course coordinator for others.
- Manage event budgets and expenditures, optimizing resources and seeking cost-effective solutions where possible.
- Evaluate the success of each course or event through post-event analysis and feedback, implementing improvements for future iterations.
- Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, researchers, and industry partners.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in event planning and management, preferably in the healthcare or scientific sector.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders. External communication will be in English.
- Knowledge about cardiovascular disease will be considered an advantage
- Flexibility to travel and work evenings or weekends is required.

About the DCAcademy
The Danish Cardiovascular Academy (DCAcademy) is a strategic initiative to strengthen education and training of early career researcher within cardiovascular research. Through courses, events and conferences we seek to improve both scientific and translational skills while simultaneously inspire and nourish the PhD and Postdoctoral researchers’ network, and the entire Danish cardiovascular research environment.
The academy holds a 180 million DKK grant from the Novo Nordisk Foundation and the Danish Heart Association. The secretariat is located at Aarhus University's Faculty of Health Sciences, with a branch office at University of Copenhagen, The Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences. The workplace is the Aarhus office.

Terms of employment
Terms of employment and pay are regulated by the collective agreement between the Ministry of Taxation and relevant applicable agreement.
