Title:
Benthic ecology of the Danish Wadden Sea

Research area and project description:
We are excited to offer a unique PhD opportunity dedicated to advancing knowledge of how climate change impacts the Wadden Sea in Denmark. The candidate will work within a larger research project, with other research teams working on sediment dynamics and seabird ecology as well. The overall goal of the project is to improve knowledge of how climate change is expected to impact food availability for migrating birds.

For the benthic PhD study, the candidate is expected to analyse existing time series data on benthic biomass on intertidal flats, conduct field surveys of the seasonal population dynamics of key species and finally perform controlled lab experiments quantifying effects of key climatic drivers on benthic species. Finally, the candidate is expected to contribute actively to interdisciplinary discussions and outreach in the project.
