The Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics at the innovative Universitetsbyen invites applications for a dedicated laboratory technician intern. Join our inclusive internship program and contribute meaningfully as a core member of a research team, mentored by Professor Simona Radutoiu.

We are at the forefront of researching plant-bacterial symbiosis with the goal of unlocking the full potential of both plants and bacteria to foster sustainable and climate-friendly agricultural practices. Our research is funded by ambitious programs, and our team consists of dedicated scientists and students committed to advancing knowledge and achieving project goals efficiently. Our research focuses on understanding the intricate interactions between plants and bacterial communities is pivotal in current research and agricultural needs.

Your Role:


  • Help organize lab supplies for smooth research operations.
  • Manage and organize large collections of bacterial cultures.
  • Prepare DNA libraries, including extractions, PCR, purification, gel electrophoresis, and quantification.
  • Participate in various plant experiments
  • Learn the fine details of tissue culture.
 

What we expect from you?

We are seeking someone who is currently enrolled in the AP degree in Chemical and Biotechnical Science or similar.

Someone who is responsible, enthusiastic, proactive, detail-oriented, and a team player.

We invite students who are curious and eager to engage in research that requires both creativity and accuracy.

You will work in an international group, so it's important to enjoy communicating and interacting in a friendly and diverse work environment.
 

What We Offer:

  • Gain hands-on experience with various legumes and crops like lotus japonicus, barley, wheat, maize, and cassava.
