The Department of Dentistry and Oral Health at Faculty of Health Sciences at Aarhus University invites applications with experience in 3D modelling and manufacturing technology, preferably within the dental field as per 1 October 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter. The position is a full-time position.

You may have one of the following profiles:

  • Dental Technician with strong digital competencies
  • Engineer with experience in 3D modelling and manufacturing
  • Experienced CAD/CAM Specialist with an interest in the dental field

About the department
At Department of Dentistry and Oral Health, you will be employed at an internationally recognised department, where we conduct research on oral health and disease in the teeth, mouth and jaws. We offer an inspiring international research environment with specialised research laboratories, modern clinical facilities and advanced digital equipment throughout the department. Our degree programmes cover the orofacial team for societal healthcare services, divided into three professions: dentist, dental hygienist, and clinical dental technician. We create synergy between our degree programmes and educate students in prevention and treatment of disease and health promotion among the population. The Department has around 300 staff and 700 students. Our research and educational activities focus on orofacial health as an integral part of general health. Your job responsibilities
Aarhus University has a strategic goal of being a digital frontrunner.

You will be a key contributor in the Department of Dentistry and Oral Health’s ambition to fulfil this strategy by integrating digital workflows, 3D technology, and advanced manufacturing into both research and education.

Our laboratories support research and teaching through the production of custom-made models and dental devices.

You will become part of a team responsible for developing and operating our digital manufacturing setup within CAD/CAM and 3D printing.

You will play a central role in:
  • Managing digital workflows from scanning to finished product
  • Ensuring high quality and proper documentation in the manufacture of custom-made medical devices
  • Driving the optimisation of software, processes, and data security

You will report to the Head of Clinic.

Your competences
We expect that you have:

  • Experience with CAD/CAM and 3D modelling
  • Knowledge of manufacturing technologies (3D printing and/or milling)
  • An understanding of materials and quality assurance

It would be an advantage if you have:
  • Experience with dental software
  • Experience with custom-made medical devices
  • An interest in digital workflows and process optimisation

As an employee at the Department of Dentistry and Oral Health, you will interact with researchers, academic staff within the dental professions, dentists, dental hygienists, clinical dental technicians, and dental assistants. You will also work closely with colleagues in the central dental laboratory, where employees have many years of experience with the department’s workflows and requirements - both analogue and digital.

Strong communication skills are highly valued in this position, as you will have extensive interaction with both colleagues and students.

We also encourage international candidates with experience in dental CAD/CAM and digital manufacturing to apply. We have an international research environment and staff from many different countries. Danish and English are both used in our daily work, and we therefore expect you to have excellent written and spoken English skills. Nonspeaking Danish applicants are expected to learn Danish.

As a person, you are development-oriented and professionally curious. We expect you to work independently once you are familiar with the routines. You have strong collaborative skills, are approachable and service-minded, and contribute positively to a good working environment.

Terms of employment
Terms of employment and pay are regulated by the collective agreement between the Ministry of Taxation and Public Employees' Organizations – the State Sector (OAO-S General Collective Agreement) and the bargaining organization(s) representing skilled workers and technicians, or by the Collective Agreement for Academics Employed by the Danish State.
