Marcela Mendoza Suárez's research group at Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics at Aarhus University is looking for a skilled laboratory technician to work with molecular techniques in the area of  plant-bacteria interactions. Commencement takes place on 1. March 2024 or as soon as possible. The position is permanent.

Job description

Laboratory activities in microbiology and molecular biology including, but not limited to bacterial cultures, DNA extraction, PCR, cloning, preparation of media, buffers, reagents, and solutions.

The technician will support with activities related to:

  • Experiments for microbiology assays and fermentation
  • Preparation of media and solutions for in vitro and fermentation processes
  • Laboratory procedures following protocols that include DNA extraction and sequencing, cloning, PCR, and gel electrophoresis
  • Monitoring and/or operating laboratory equipment
  • Maintaining laboratory records and data



Your profile


You are educated laboratory technician and have experience with basic molecular-biological techniques
  • You have experience of preparation of media and solutions for in vitro and fermentation processes
  • It is a clear advantage if you have experience with DNA extraction and PCR
  • You are good at establishing relationships at work
  • You are committed to both your own tasks and the group's overall tasks
  • communicating both orally and in writing in Danish and English (English will be working language)
  • You are responsible and structured
  • You are prepared to participate in a dynamic research group.
