The Department of Biomedicine at Faculty of Health at Aarhus University invites applications for one or two positions as a Laboratory technologist or Medical Laboratory Technologist within histology and molecular biology as per 1 October 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter. The position is a permanent 50% or full-time position.

Your job responsibilities
As a lab technician, your primary tasks are in the new histology core facility. You contribute to running the core facility through sample handling and histological staining. The work with the core facility is 50 % of the worktime. If you are appointed as fulltime technician, you will also contribute to running the multiplexed imaging methods in the newly established laboratory. In your daily work, you have a close interaction with competent colleagues and will interact with many research groups and users of the facility.
Your main tasks in the histo core will consist of:
- Processing of tissues for paraffin and OCT embedding.
- Cutting tissue sections and staining with different optimized protocols.
- Teaching new users to perform tissue sectioning.
- Registration of users and billing.
Your main tasks in the multiplex lab will consist of:
- Processing and staining of cultured cells with different optimized protocols
- Imaging cells with microscopes
- Preparing DNA and antibody probes with the optimized protocol for multiplexed imaging
You will report to the Associate Professor Martin Kristian Thomsen, and Professor Kyung Min Noh
Your competences
You have a background as Laboratory technologist or Medical Laboratory Technologist and experience with histology, microscopy, and molecular biology. Experience with many users and registration for billing will be an advantage but is not necessarily.
As a person, you have good interpersonal skills, are inclusive and team-oriented and able to contribute to a good work environment.
We expect you to be fluent in oral and written English.

Terms of employment and pay are regulated by the collective agreement between the Ministry of Taxation and the Organisations of Public Employees – Denmark (OAO) or The Danish confederation of public employees of 2010.
