Lead groundbreaking sleep research as a postdoctoral fellow at Aarhus University

dato

The Sleep & Circadian Psychology Research Group invites applications for a postdoctoral position in the field of sleep research. The position is full-time (37 hours/week) for a duration of 2 years.

About the Project

In an ambitious research project recently funded by the TRYG foundation, we aim to thoroughly test the potential efficacy of weighted blankets to improve sleep and reducing insomnia symptoms in adolescents and young adults using a randomized controlled trial. The trial will involve the collection of questionnaire data, actigraphy, and sleep-relevant biomarkers.

Your Qualifications

We are seeking a strong and independent candidate to lead the project under the guidance and supervision of Associate Professor Ali Amidi and in collaboration with the rest of the research group. Candidates with a PhD in psychology or other related fields are preferred, but all candidates with a PhD degree and prior experience in the described research methods, along with a strong interest in sleep research, are encouraged to apply.

Candidates are expected to have project management skills, a proven track record in research involving human subjects, international peer-reviewed publications, and a strong motivation to grow as an emerging  sleep researcher. Prior teaching experience is also important, as the position will involve some teaching responsibilities.

Why Join Us?

As a member of our research group, you will receive the necessary supervision and support to lead the project, as well as strategic mentoring from senior members of the group to help you grow as a researcher and transition into a more senior research role. Therefore, training and development of your skills in research leadership, idea generation, grant writing, and funding application will also be areas of focus.
