There are 2 positions available and they are one–year positions from 1 March 2025 or as soon as possible. It is renewable.
Job description
- You will be contributing to the project on the epigenetic and transcriptional basis of neuroplasticity, with the mentoring of the Group Leader, Taro Kitazawa.
- You will use cutting-edge genomics technologies including bulk and single-cell RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, CUT&Tag, HiC, and DamID. Furthermore, you will contribute to the development of novel genomics technologies.
- You will carry out bioinformatics analysis of these data.
- The balance of wet experiments and dry bioinformatics is negotiable.
- These activities will be in close collaboration with other lab members who work on in vivo mouse circuits, electrophysiology, and behavior.
- You will have opportunities to develop grant writing, networking, and scientific communication skills.
- You will be presenting at international conferences.
- You will contribute to daily lab management, and attend project meetings, department seminars, and institute retreats as part of an international, dynamic team.
Applicants should hold a PhD in molecular biology or similar.
- Must: Experience in genomics experiments and/or bioinformatics analysis.
- Desirable: Experience in single-cell RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, CUT&Tag, HiC, or DamID.
- Desirable: Experience in bioinformatics analysis of short reads.
- Desirable: Experience in publication.
- Advantage: Experience in neurobiology, and mouse genetics.
- Advantage: Experience in machine learning.
Kitazawa’s lab focuses on the epigenetic and transcriptional basis of neuroplasticity in the context of development and learning. We implement a multidisciplinary approach, encompassing genomics, bioinformatics, mouse genetics, circuit, and behavior analysis. We are also actively working on the development of novel genomics technologies.
The lab is supported by DANDRITE core funding, as well as external funding, including ERC-StG grant.

Deadline

Application procedure
Shortlisting is used. This means that after the deadline for applications – and with the assistance from the assessment committee chairman, and the appointment committee if necessary, – the head of department selects the candidates to be evaluated. All applicants will be notified whether or not their applications have been sent to an expert assessment committee for evaluation. The selected applicants will be informed about the composition of the committee, and each applicant is given the opportunity to comment on the part of the assessment that concerns him/her self. Once the recruitment process is completed a final letter of rejection is sent to the deselected applicants.

Formalities and salary range
Natural Sciences refers to the Ministerial Order on the Appointment of Academic Staff at Danish Universities under the Danish Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation.
The application must be in English and include a curriculum vitae, degree certificate, a complete list of publications, a statement of future research plans and information about research activities, teaching portfolio and verified information on previous teaching experience (if any). Appointment shall be in accordance with the collective labour agreement between the Danish Ministry of Taxation and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations.
