About the research project

While increasing evidence indicates that the disruption of the circadian clock is a critical risk factor for metabolic syndrome and the associate pathologies, its causative role and the involved mechanisms are still largely unknown. Using human and animal experiments, this ambitious translational project will provide major insights into the cellular and molecular basis of how chrono disruption influences the progression of these pathologies. This will potentially help to define new strategies to diagnose, prevent, and treat metabolic dysfunction associated diseases.
