The Department of Biomedicine at Faculty of Health at Aarhus University invites applications for two positions as Postdoc in the field of cancer immunology and in vivo tumour models as per 1 January 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter. The positions are fixed-term full-time positions, one position for 1 year and one position for 2 years with possibilities of extension.

About the research project


The laboratory of Cancer, immunity and inflammation study various aspects of cancer immunology in murine syngeneic cancer models. The project focus on exploration of novel drug approaches and genetic modifications of tumour cell lines to expand our understanding on how the host immune system mount a potent anti-tumoral response.


Your job responsibilities


As Postdoc in cancer immunology your position is primarily research-based but may also involve teaching assignments. You will contribute to the development of the department through research of high international quality. In your daily work, you will work closely with colleagues on your project, where you will receive supervision and guidance.

Your main tasks will consist of:

  • Independent research of high international quality, including publication.
  • Plan and manage multiple syngeneic in vivo tumour models
  • Take care of animal breeding
  • Develop and run large spectral flow panels on mouse tissue samples
  • Analysing data using cytobank software

You will report to Group leader, Professor Martin R Jakobsen.

Your competences
You have academic qualifications at PhD level, preferable within one or more of the following areas: molecular medicine, biochemistry, or immunology; together with a strong interest in cancer immunology and therapeutic development.

Applications with documented experience with cancer immunology, drug delivery and transgenic and orthotopic mouse tumor models will be preferred. We expect you to demonstrate experience with multi-parameter spectral flow cytometry and be skilled in cytobank software. You are interested in fundamental and translational research questions and can work well both independently and in a team environment.

As a person, you have good interpersonal skills, are inclusive and team-oriented and able to contribute to a good work environment. You are enthusiastic, motivated, result-driven, and creative minded, with good organization, writing and communication skills.

We expect you to be fluent in oral and written English.

In order to be assessed as qualified for a Postdoc position, you must meet these academic criteria.
